27 October 2026 - Hong Kong - Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited's Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Raymond Ho was invited to deliver a keynote speech today at Telecoms World Asia 2026 in Bangkok, one of Asia's premier annual telecoms industry events.
Speaking on the topic "Beyond connectivity: How telcos can capture value in the AI economy", Mr Ho shared his insights on how AI is reshaping the telecoms value chain and highlighted the company's experience in leveraging AI to drive operational transformation and unlock new revenue streams.
Mr Ho noted that the AI economy is reshaping how value is created in the telecoms industry. To address the challenge of continued growth in data traffic without corresponding revenue increases, telecoms operators must evolve from traditional network operators into AI-driven value creators. He believes the industry's unique advantage lies in the trust it has built with customers, positioning telecoms operators to play a pivotal role in the AI economy.
HTHK is advancing its AI transformation through a three-pronged strategy of "Build, Transform and Monetise". This includes building GPU computing infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency through AI and Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps), and identifying AI applications and services that can transform AI capabilities into tangible business value.
The company has launched Anya, an AI sales assistant capable of efficiently handling high volumes of website traffic and customer enquiries for SoSIM. It has also introduced the 3Business Empower CTO AI service, helping small and medium-sized enterprises improve operational efficiency and competitiveness through AI tools.
