Hong Kong's first mobile telecoms platform dedicated to education sector
3 August 2026 - Hong Kong - 3 Hong Kong, the mobile brand of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (HTHKH; stock code: 215) , today joined forces with Defining Education and its founder YY Lam, to launch "YY Mobile fueled by 3", Hong Kong's first mobile telecoms platform developed in collaboration between a mobile operator and an educational institution. Powered by 3 Hong Kong's 5G network, the mobile learning platform enables students and alumni of Defining Education to enjoy unlimited local data for online courses, while gaining access to educational content curated by YY Lam on the My3 App.
Telecoms-education collaboration ushers in a new ecosystem
"YY Mobile fueled by 3", the new mobile service platform, enables students to access and revisit Defining Education's online course videos anytime, anywhere via 3 Hong Kong's ultra-fast 5G network and unlimited local data*, removing time, location and data usage barriers. Upon subscribing to a "YY Mobile fueled by 3" monthly plan, users will see "YY Mobile" displayed as the network name on their mobile devices. By integrating mobile connectivity with high-quality educational content, the new platform delivers a unique learning experience and serves as an ideal learning companion for students.

Surprise visit by 3 Hong Kong inspires students with ema wish plaques
To mark the launch of "YY Mobile fueled by 3", the 3 Hong Kong team paid a surprise visit to a Defining Education learning centre to cheer on students. During the visit, Mr Ho and YY shared their examination tips and learning experiences, encouraging students to embrace future challenges with a positive mindset, while wishing them every success in the new academic year. 3 Hong Kong also presented students with ema, Japanese wish plaques symbolising hopes and aspirations, along with tailored promotional offers as a gesture of encouragement, wishing them success in their examinations.
Tailored monthly plans for students and alumni with access to premium learning resources
Starting today, Defining Education students and alumni can subscribe to "YY Mobile fueled by 3" monthly plans through the 3 Hong Kong website, the Defining Education website, all 3 Hong Kong and 3SUPREME retail stores, and designated Defining Education learning centres. Two plans are available: "Infinite Learning" for current students and "Infinite Support" for alumni.
With monthly fees starting from just HK$98, subscribers can enjoy 3 Hong Kong's 5G network service, complimentary Defining Education course experience and discount vouchers, as well as free access to the dedicated "YY Zone" on the My3 app. Featuring a DSE learning resource library, weekly quizzes, YY's motivational quotes and notes, the platform supports students' everyday studies, encourages self-directed learning and helps enhance students' learning efficiency and confidence in preparing for examinations.
