Hong Kong, 26 September 2018 - 3 Hong Kong has joined forces with local FinTech pioneer WeLend Limited (WeLend) to launch the 3Money "New Phone and Cash Plan". The 24-hour online application process via mobile handset enables 3 Hong Kong customers to subscribe to tariff plans that come complete with designated smartphone models - but without having to make payment upfront.

At the same time, customers can opt for a WeLend cash loan of up to double the total contract value. Successful applicants have the option to pay off the loan by interest-free1 installments over as many as 60 months. The package introduces a new consumer financing solution by combining a conventional purchasing experience with an innovative FinTech facility.

Get a new handset without making payment upfront plus instant cash of up to two times total contract value
The New Phone and Cash Plan enables customers to get a new handset without having to make any payment upfront, while providing access to a cash loan from WeLend.

Starting today, 3 Hong Kong customers can use their handsets to go to web.three.com.hk/Phone&Cash/ and apply online. Facial recognition automatically verifies an applicant's identity, before a system powered by big data analytics assesses and approves2 an amount straight away. Applicants can then choose the latest handset such as the Samsung Galaxy Note9 or an iPhone XS model - the first handsets to be made available - and indicate how much they would like to borrow. The online application process is quick and simple.

When an application is accepted, customers are given an approval code to use when subscribing to a handset and service package at a 3Shop. 3 Hong Kong customers can also apply for an additional cash loan that can be transferred to a bank account as quickly as during the same day3 , once approved.

Instant online approval plus interest-free1 60-month repayment option
The 3Money New Phone and Cash Plan charges 0% interest1, while offering flexible repayment periods of up to 60 months. A monthly administration fee1 is payable. Customers can borrow up to HK$50,000 or triple the total value of a service contract, comprising a handset and monthly service subscription, whichever is lower.

Additional products or services purchased by the customers subsequently shall not be included in the Plan, and customer must pay for those additional products and services. In case of outstanding payment, the relevant services will be suspended until the outstanding payment is settled by customer.
