Hong Kong, 25 Feb 2016 - Hutchison Global Communications Limited (HGC), the fixed-line division of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (HTHKH; stock code: 215) today announced launch of the premium bizCloud 2.0 cloud solution. This enables corporations of all sizes to log into a self-management portal, where they can subscribe to, and manage cloud resources with flexibility - anytime from anywhere. The result is a telco-grade cloud service with an emphasis on safety and reliability.
New online portal enables easy management of cloud resources
The number of start-ups instigated in Hong Kong has been on the rise in recent years and soared by nearly 50% in 2015 compared with 2014[1]. In order to serve this trend, HGC has upgraded its bizCloud offering - launched in 2013 - to a premium bizCloud 2.0 version. By subscribing, corporations gain flexible access to computing, storage and network resources, allowing them to respond dynamically to ever-changing market conditions.
The bizCloud 2.0 cloud solution features an easy-to-use self-management portal via which customers are able to review utilisation of resources and real-time performance of virtual machines (VMs), as well as check capability analyses and various reports. The system also enables administrators to check records of logins, logouts and VM operations at any time. Different user levels and administration rights can be set according to role.
Establish VPCs and configurable networks
bizCloud 2.0 customers can subscribe to a variety of cloud resources in order to establish virtual private clouds (VPCs), which can be connected via the Internet or virtual private networks. Such organisations also have the flexibility to reconfigure their networks to accommodate different applications and security policies.

Telco-grade cloud service hosted at world-class data centres
The bizCloud 2.0 platform is based on a design featuring high availability and resilience, enabling establishment of a 99.95% service level objective. A robust firewall already protects the cloud platform, but customers also have the option of implementing multiple security measures, depending on regulatory and security demands. In addition, the bizCloud 2.0 system is hosted at HGC-owned tier-3 or higher-grade data centres accredited with ISO 27001 information security certification, ensuring safe and secure storage and transmission. Unlike many other cloud offerings, Internet traffic usage is included in the bizCloud 2.0 tariff plans. And customers have the choice of opting for the enhanced security and data transmission performance of a private virtual network.
Flexible charging model and combination of network resources
A flexible charging model allows corporations of any size to reap the benefits of the cloud era. Customers can choose a flexible charging model based on actual usage - pay-as-you-go - according to general business needs, as well as a fixed monthly plan. bizCloud 2.0 also enables corporations to opt for a hybrid model comprising a fixed monthly plan and bursting option to allow flexible use of cloud computing resources. This approach accommodates unexpected increases in demand, without having to shell out for expensive hardware or maintenance.
