Innovative high-quality services earn
12 industry awards for HTHKH in just four months
Hong Kong, 27 April 2015- Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited ("HTHKH" or "the Group", stock code: 215) received a total of 12 industry awards in the first four months of 2015. Accolades have been conferred on the Group by local and overseas organisations, media titles and government departments.
Placed in top-10 of three Asia's Best Companies Poll categories
HTHKH was placed in the top-101 of the "Most Committed to a Strong Dividend Policy", "Hong Kong's Best Managed Company" and "Best Investor Relations" categories of Asia's Best Companies Poll 2014 by FinanceAsia, Asia's leading business magazine. Results were based on votes from investors across Asia after assessing criteria based on performance.
HTHKH's rankings in Asia's Best Companies Poll demonstrate industry recognition of remarkable performance. Despite operating in a volatile telecoms market, the Group adopts a stable dividend policy and prudent financial management approach, with the aim of enhancing long-term shareholder value. The Group was listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in 2009.
HGC's Audience Analytics service strikes gold in Hong Kong ICT Awards HGC Cloud Audience Analytics, a service launched by Hutchison Global Communications Limited (HGC), the Group's fixed-line operating division, won the "Best Smart Hong Kong Gold Award" in the Big Data Application category of the Hong Kong ICT Awards. As part of the HGC Retail Cloud Solution, HGC Cloud Audience Analytics delivers real-time analysis of shopping behaviour and measures reaction to promotional messaging to boost retailer knowledge of customers. All such data can be used to design marketing strategies and product displays. The service has proved popular among retail chains since launch early this year.
Triumph in the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards "Best New Product" category wins gold
HGC also won a gold award in the "Best New Product or Service of the Year - Telecommunications - Product" category of the 2015 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards. In step with a strategy to collaborate with OTT content providers, HGC last year provided one of mainland China's largest Internet TV operators with data centre hosting and colocation services, as well as international and local networking, plus customer and marketing services. The TV operator's localised video content and smart devices then became part of Hong Kong's first bundled offer comprising 4K home broadband service and entertainment programming. Such collaboration demonstrates how telecoms operators can help OTT players grow.
Global award for leadership in telecoms innovation bestowed on HGC
HGC's ongoing efforts to reach new markets resulted in a Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) capability that has improved interconnectivity there for international carriers and content providers alike. This exemplified the overall contribution that earned HGC the "Best Company for Leadership - Telecom Service Innovation: Global" award presented by International Alternative Investment Review Magazine (IAIR).
HGC was also a pioneer in providing telecoms services to Myanmar, beginning with provision of the nation's first IP-VPN service in 2008. In fact, HGC became the first foreign telecoms operator to provide Myanmar with voice and data services, following local market liberalisation. The company has also co-operated with Myanma Posts and Telecommunications to strengthen its business in the GMS. These accomplishments provide a one-stop telecoms solution for carriers and corporate customers with offices in the GMS.
