Hutchison Global Communications awarded
"Best International Wholesale Carrier" by Telecom Asia

Hong Kong, 23 April 2010 - Hutchison Global Communications Limited ("HGC"), the fixed-line operation of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (Stock Code: 215), today announced its winning of the "Best International Wholesale Carrier" Award in the 2010 Telecom Asia Awards. This award is a testimony to the remarkable achievements of HGC in developing total telecom solutions for international carriers on a wholesale basis, and its unrivalled market leadership position.

Telecom Asia is a reputable telecommunications magazine. Presented by Telecom Asia every year since 1998, Telecom Asia Awards are Asia's largest and longest-running telecoms industry honours. This is their 13th year of showcasing Asia's top telecommunications companies in recognition of their accomplishments and contributions. The award winners in 12 categories were chosen from more than 100 fixed, mobile and convergence telecom operators around the region. Selection was made by a panel of independent judges appointed by Telecom Asia's editorial team on the bas is of innovation, financial performance, technology, market leadership and corporate governance.

"HGC has excelled in the tough wholesale market by being able to differentiate through the reach and diversity of its networks," Telecom Asia Group Editor Joseph Waring said. "It manages to win and retain business by building close relationships with its customers."

"It is an honour for HGC to have been chosen as this year's Best International Wholesale Carrier award recipient," said Andrew Kwok, Senior Vice President - International Business of HGC. "HGC believes that we were chosen as the winner because of our strategy in developing HGC as an Asian telecom hub, tailor-made solutions, differentiated business model and innovative products that we pioneer to the market."

HGC attains a global reach with an Asian focus through the deployment of multiple submarine and terrestrial cable systems offering a high degree of resilience, as well as the establishment of its own point-of-presence (POPs) nodes overseas. Today, HGC's advanced voice, data and IP network links its home market with the rest of the world and carries traffic between internationally-dispersed geographies. HGC was the first operator in Hong Kong to have established direct telecom links to mainland China. With its self-built fibre optic cable systems at Lok Ma Chau, Man Kam To, Lo Wu and Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Corridor, HGC makes the first player in Hong Kong to integrate four cross-border routes with the networks of all three mainland China's tier-1 telecom operators. In the voice space, HGC has established interconnections with more than 200 carriers and extended mobile coverage via direct connections with 100-plus operators throughout more than 50 countries. In addition, its international video-routing platform connects with some 60 locations and 130 operators around the world.
