Hong Kong, 13 December 2022 - Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited (The Group; stock code: 215) has been ranked as "Top 20 Innovative Companies" in the first Corporate Innovation Index (CII) Awards Presentation Ceremony and Forum 2022. This award demonstrates the Group's excellence on innovation and the recognition of its leadership position in a fiercely competitive telecoms market.

Driven by its keen insight into the potential development of innovative technologies, the Group has been offering diversified services to create new and increasing value to enterprises and customers. For example, the Group took the lead to open an online 3Shop in the Voxels Metaverse platform, further expanding its business to the Metaverse. Early this year, the Group also became the first telecoms operators to accept cryptocurrency payments in Hong Kong.

The Group has combined its 5G network and other advanced technology to tailor-make solutions for corporate customers, enabling them to organise different kinds of virtual activities and explore business opportunities in the Metaverse. The Group has also partnered an education platform to provide Web 3.0 and Metaverse training courses to students in a new and interactive way, which helps the education sector understand Metaverse-related technologies and applications.

Organised by the Asia-Pacific Institute of Business of the Business School of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Corporate Innovation Index Awards Presentation Ceremony and Forum 2022 aims to recognise top-ranking large corporations and SMEs having the highest Innovation Index. CII is funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission under the General Support Programme. This project recruited more than 200 cross-industry companies to undertake a survey questionnaire, and each company's ranking on innovation performance is based on various indexes.
